Sara Garvey

Sara Garvey is 28 years old, from Leeds and has been singing and performing since she was 13. She started out in various local bands, then hooked up with 2 rappers, ‘LP’ and ‘Cany’, and DJ Yung Fox and became one of the 1st female freestyling singers in the north, which naturally progressed to writing. Joined a band called ‘OAK’ and spent the next couple of years writing an album, which should be dropping in the near future. Once the album was recorded Sara began touring with ‘Nightmares on Wax’, who are also a Leeds based band.

After spending a privileged year with them it was back to the studio, she had decided by then that what she really wanted to do was record a solo project. That was the plan anyway, what actually happened was she did some writing for the next ‘N.O.W’ album, and featured on an album by ‘BUDNUBAC’, a Spanish based project and brainchild of Robin Taylor-Firth ex ‘Olive’ member and co writer with ‘N.O.W.’, and co-wrote a few songs with MJ Cole including the track “Questions”.

Sara says,

“It has been a fantastic year, I’ve been blessed with working with some amazingly talented musicians and have learned a great deal. I am currently spending day and night in the studio writing for my solo thing which I hope will be completed by early next year, I will be doing a lot of promotion this year but the live thing is my focus, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
